I come from a small village in the South of Italy, where I was born and raised. I obtained my BSc. in Biological Sciences at the University of Naples. Immediately after I began my research experience working in an angio-cardio-neurology laboratory where I became fascinated with studying signaling pathways involved in neurodegeneration. In my free time I enjoy mountain climbing, running and cooking.

I completed my Master in Biochemistry at the Christian-Albrechts-University in my home country, Germany. I came to Edmonton to do my Phd in Neuroscience: a field of science I have been interested in and excited about for a long time. Outside of the lab I enjoy cycling, hiking, kajaking and playing musical instruments.
